I’m just a blessed guy living in the Great Northwest (Portland Oregon to be exact). I’m passionate about a variety of things including Jesus, music and creative design.
My foray into creative design had it’s roots in something less…well…glamorous. Working as an assistant network admin in a Seattle-area law-firm, I had the opportunity to develop and implement an Intranet (a website for “internal” purposes only) and thus began a journey into web design. From there, I began branching out to do freelance work and out of that, J.Haas Design was formed. Over time, my work began to include a variety of work including everything from logo design to Flash design to ad/marketing campaigns.
I was given the opportunity in 2004 to work at a church in Portland, Oregon (Portland Christian Center) where I’ve been involved in web/graphics design.
The journey of music began with piano at a young age. One of my early claims to fame (in my own juvenile mind) was the ability to rock the theme to the TV show Hunter. It was pretty legit – trust me.
My training was classical and soon branched out to a few years of saxophone playing and, in college, the guitar entered the scene. Surrounded by guitar players at a Christian college…it only seemed natural.
I spent a few years in a band called Red Shoed Star and since then, have primarily played and led for church/worship bands.
Hobbies also include everything from snowboarding to reading…to anything related to Apple (yes, I’m what they call an “Apple fan boy” – and proud of it).
