Fred Thompson for President in 2008?

There, I said it.  The recent release from the Gallup Poll shows a strong first showing for someone (Fred Thompson) who has yet to declare himself “in” the race for 2008.  I’ll withhold my full commentary on the entire matter (oh, do I ever have a LOT to say but for various reasons I’ve chosen not to engage this at this time) but I found this recent Gallup announcement intriguing for both parties as everyone is jockeying for position.
