Haarstad…Harstad? Hmm.

I think I may have happened on to something when I stumbled across an interesting site called Answers.com. I was actually looking for drum loops that shared a good Sousa marching-band feel for a project I’m working on for my church’s youth choir. Well, having one of those online “geek” moments, I typed in my last name to see what this great Answers.com site could really do and…voila! It had a hit!

My last name is Haarstad. There’s a town in Norway called…Harstad. I’m Norwegian. Are you understanding just where I’m headed with this one?

Well, here’s the great city that I like to think is named after me (well, actually my family but for egos sake - let’s just call it “my city”). Harstad, Norway - check it out. If you stop to visit, just tell them you know me and they’ll give you the key to the city.

Well, maybe not.
