As a big-time Chris Tomlin fan – it’s not a stretch to say that I’ve been spinning his latest album quite a bit on my iPod. One song that has absolutely grabbed my heart is the one entitled “Everlasting God” written by Brenton Brown & Ken Riley (hm, not written by Chris at all).

I had heard/read about this and today I received an e-mail which actually made me check into it myself. Yahoo is compiling a Time Capsule that is open to contributions from anyone for another 27 days (30 days total). I haven't had much time to look at it myself but from the few moments I spent looking at the contributions...I must admit I found this an exceptional collection and one that I'm sure will explode with many more contributions as word gets out. These days the use of Myspace has become almost as necessary as e-mail. Lately however, my frustration with Myspace ads has taken me to the brink of saying "Enough! I'm done!". Those ridiculous ads of young girls in provacative poses blasted right in my face has continued to rise my ire with this system. Yeah, I know - it's a free service so this is how they make their money - through ads. But to my thinking, these forms of ads reek of irresponsibility and the overt objectification of women is downright shameful. By not giving the customer (me) the choice to make choices of what kind of ads are blasted on my screen has driven me crazy. Well, a little digging today produced a SOLUTION! Ok, I know I've talked a lot of tech on this blog which wasn't my intention since I have a separate blog for that purpose. But... Today I had my first experience with the phenomenon that I seem to have been sleeping through (which is saying something). Skype is one of the coolest technologies to-date. Now, VOIP ("voice over ip") is not new technology but the useability and quality of this system is exceptional. Granted, I've now used it a total of ONE time but it was a conversation with a friend in Scotland about a blog I just finished creating for her. She asked "do you have Skype?" as a way to see if we could talk about the set-up and so I finally had a reason to investigate. Let me just say that this is pretty darn cool on so many levels.
